Jo again. I guess you'll just have to listen to me some more. Brianna is out of town in Ohio, so I'm sure she will share a few photos when she gets back? Megan has not yet made her first appearance on here, but she's doing well and little Austin turns ONE TOMORROW!!! Molly is having a "sister day" with two of her sisters ... they are going to her one sister's midwife appointment ... fun!!! Incidentally, Megan also has a midwife appointment today [same midwife] - Corban is taking her to that later this afternoon. She is due with my 5th grandchild in May ... Lord willing.
I'll just go ahead and share this photo of Corban and Austin :) Maybe I'll have a few more after our family meal Wednesday?
So ... here's my post. Yesterday I FINALLY got my floors mopped. They have really been needing it ... and WOW it sure looks nice! We had a fellowship meal as usual, so I went to that, came home, and all I could think was, "A cup of hot tea and my puzzle." So, I got the kettle going.
I poured the just-off-the-boil hot water over my tea, put the kettle back in place [it's an electric one ... I have had it for a few years and just LOVE IT!! I'll share a link below if anyone is interested], and moved my hot cup of tea to the counter ... EXCEPT ... I MISSED the counter and spilled the just-off-the-boil HOT WATER all down my skirt, over my shoes, and on to the newly mopped kitchen floor ... which also went UNDER the stove.
Well. I'm a really calm person. Anyone looking on would have never known that I just scalded my ankle [SO THANKFUL I still had my shoes on!!!] and made a big mess. I just casually went over to the laundry room [a few steps away], grabbed a towel, and started cleaning up. Had to move the stove - it needed cleaning under anyway - and got everything mopped up with the towel before re-mopping with the mop.
Geesh.
Made a new cup of tea and enjoyed it while putting more of my most-current puzzle together. It's a strange one. I like to get the 1,000 piece puzzles that have obvious patters and pictures so it's challenging but not stressful or frustrating. This was was / is a little too easy, but I'm still enjoying it. :)
Did you see my last post? I often question whether it's safe for me to live alone!!! At least I get a good laugh at myself. Daily. Several times.
And the kettle. This is the first electric kettle I've ever owned. Prior to this, I used a gooseneck kettle on the stove. That kettle had a thermometer that was marked with the perfect coffee / tea water temperature so you knew when to remove it from the heat. When I first got this electric kettle, I used that thermometer to test the water - perfect! So, this kettle ... all you do is put water it, set the kettle down on the base, turn it ok, and wait. It heats it to the perfect temperature (really fast), and the automatically shuts off so you do not over-boil your water (yes, that is possible!).
LOVE IT! Bonus: all stainless steel inside ... I wouldn't have it any other way ... unless of course it was glass. And side note: the gooseneck is good for those who like to make "pour over" coffee. Here's the link: Stainless Steel Gooseneck Kettle
Well ... I have a full day today, so I better get going. In-town errands and then a follow up appointment with the holistic / functional medicine NP I saw a month ago [Springfield]. They did a ton of lab work and I'm very curious to see what she has to say about the results. Last month was my first appointment with her and I really like her. Hopefully she can help me pinpoint a few ways to help me get healthier and stronger.
Mom is going with me ... so while we are there will will make a quick stop in Costco and Aldi. Not fun, but at least we can have not fun together. :)

Oh no! That would be frustrating! 😄
ReplyDeleteThe puzzle looks very interesting, the chickens are kind of like yours... curious and very funny!
I'm thinking of doing a post about a sewing project I might do soon- refitting some Tshirts I got at Hobby Lobby when I went with my sisters. I'll see how it goes though! 😃
That sounds like a great idea to share!! Sewing projects where you are remaking something ... creative and smart and fun.
DeleteThe puzzle was very interesting - just a bunch of real photos randomly placed together in a farm scene. Strange, but nice as far as puzzles go.
:)
Also... having not fun together! 😂 that's the way to do it! 😄
ReplyDeleteMisery loves company! ;)
