Update on Mom & Ron

Joanne here ... I guess this post is more directed towards the Melancons and the Smiths, but if you are not one of those and are curious: Ron is my step-dad.

Ron is in bad need of hip surgery!!!!! He has to pass an echo-cardiogram first, and that's scheduled for this morning. His "pre op" appointment is at the end of the month, and then the next available date for the surgery is all the way at the end of January. We are all praying something sooner opens up. The doctors are shocked that he can even scoot around with a cane - there's just nothing there. One of the nurses looked at the xray and said, "NO WONDER YOU ARE IN SO MUCH PAIN!"

And while you know I always strive to be gracious and loving and kind, when I heard that I couldn't help but think, "DUH!" ;)
Poor guy - he really is in a LOT of pain. He has been pretty much laying down in his chair for the last month or so, only getting up when he absolutely needs to. 

Corban bought them a little house in a small town just down the highway from us. They are comfortable there until he is done building their new house on this property. We are all so glad they are close by, and we have all enjoyed getting to spend more time with them.
