Joanne here. It's been a crazy week or two! Corban and Megan left for CA about 1 1/2 weeks ago and I did the chores while they were gone. Hopefully we'll see a few photos of their trip, but in the meantime, here's a video I did one of the mornings they were gone ... just sharing how we have a Jersey bull right now with our cow, and I also showed the inside progress of the barn lean-to.
Kidding season has officially kicked off with 3 beautiful babies from Bree. 2 girls, and 1 boy. She was paired with our oldest buck / sire, Guinness. He's been with us from the beginning and is quite the guy! Here is a very quick video Brianna took just this morning:
Starting just about last Wednesday I've been sick. UGH!!!!! It just seems like this is the season for being sick over and over and over again. We have all been fighting off virus after virus. Nothing too bad except when I got pneumonia after the 'rona last summer. Not that any of it is fun, but it could always be worse! Anyway, I left a lot of things undone while I've been resting, and this morning I felt good enough to get a few of those undone things done. I canned some turkey bone broth [electric canner ... easy peasy ... I like using that when I do not have a big job ... here's the link if you are interested!], and I made some macadamia nut white chocolate chip cookies. They are gluten free, very low sugar, and smell yummy. The ingredients have been sitting out on the counter since last week, so they came together pretty fast.
Here's a photo of my dining room table with the cookies, the canner, and the current puzzle I'm working on. Brianna and the children bought the puzzle for me. I took it out several months ago, started putting it together, and didn't like how it was set up vertical instead of horizontal ... so I put it back. Since I have not been feeling well, I figured it was time to get it back out and force myself to get over it being vertical. :)And here's a photo of the seed starting progress. Just a few right now (cabbages, leeks, onions, and some flowers); I start more at the end of the week.
Ron had his hip surgery last Wednesday and is recovering at home. So far he seems to be managing really well. A physical therapist is visiting them today for the first time. I talked with Ron earlier and he said the pain has been manageable and so far it's not as bad as he thought it would be. Let's all pray that continues to be the case!!!
I pray you all are doing well!
