Jo here ... it's been a while! Well ... I've been sick for about 4 weeks. UGH!!!! Hopefully that's all over with. It's not like I was totally down; mostly able to get normal stuff done but nothing extra, with a handful of days of actually "being down" (sitting around all day, fever, etc). So, it could have been worse and I'm thankful that I was mostly able to keep up. I think what made it last a little longer was it turned into a sinus infection.
Anyway ... glad that's over!
I was SO THANKFUL to finally have the family meal at my house last night; thanks, Brianna, for posting a few photos yesterday! I sure have some cute grandchildren :) The meal was good, but wow it sure wore me out! And I guess I was just too wired up for all the socializing because I didn't sleep well at all last night. No worries though ... I had a good nap and am feeling refreshed now.
I walked over to see the progress on the house. We've had 3 bad-weather days in a row, so that means no work for the guys, which usually means: work-at-home [or at Corban's or at the shop] for the guys. Corban worked on the house by himself on Wednesday; yesterday Hans and Floyd were here helping; today Tylor was able to join, too, so that's 4 guys working on it. The inside is all framed, electrical is in, and the water lines are mostly done. The next big step is spray foam insulation and then drywall. Wahoo!
Megan is going downtown today to get the electricity turned on [the well house isn't too far away, so in the meantime the guys have just had a big extension cord connected to the outlet at the well house]. This property is right on the edge of town, so we have city electricity and well water.
I have a video to share, but first I want to share the charging station. I got a good laugh out of it.
And now, here's a video tour. :)
I'll do a tour of the shop addition some other time. It's all insulated and holding heat really well; that's where they are storing the Conklin ... it's in 55 gallon drums and should not be frozen. (The roofing crew does residential and commercial metal roofs, and they are also pro installers of commercial Conklin Roofing Systems ... and all that stuff needs a home!!)
I pray you all are doing well!!! And a side note: Megan tried a few times to post some pictures of their CA trip, however it kept getting deleted after a lot of work / time spent. How frustrating!!!
Very nice work Brothers.
