More signs of Spring

This morning I heard the first Purple Martins, so I asked Corban to raise the polls for me. Later, I was in the asparagus patch weeding and fertilizing, and it was so nice to hear and see the Martins swarming around the houses.  :)

I snapped a photo of Corban, just for fun, and sent it to Brianna to explain why I was late getting to her house for a walk. We enjoyed a nice walk to the creek and spring.

While in the asparagus patch, I came across a bird skull. I'm not sure the breed, but it's a medium-sized bird. Maybe someone will know ... or maybe I'll investigate. That's a pretty big skull for a bird. Edited to add: we think it might be a Grackle.

Now it's lunch time ... at 1pm. Thank you, day light savings time. 🙄 For a creature of extreme habit, the struggle is real.
