I wish there was a way to copy the expression in his voice when he tells the children their bedtime story. It’s pretty cute and little David just drinks it all up. Tonight’s story started off with explaining to little David how when he (Brian) was a little boy he used to take his lunch to school. Then he told David when he lived in Peru about 10 years ago, there was a street corner where the busses and trucks pulled up and all the men would wait there to get picked up to go work in the potato fields for the day. And there would be women waiting at the Street corner with hot food- beans and rice. A lot of the guys would show up with a giant Tupperware container and take their pick of which beans and rice option they wanted for the day and take it on up to the mountain with them. Brian went on to tell little David they also had breakfast there too Little David said “oh wow and what about dinner?!” Brian said “yeah they had dinner there too! you just bought your Tupperware container of beans and rice and decided when you wanted to eat and that’s the meal you called it!” (ππ€¦π»♀️π) He then went on to share how after working in the potatoes all morning they would all sit around at lunch break and pass around Tupperware lids full of everyone’s own version of beans and rice by the time they got done passing around everything you had a whole mix of different beans and rice in your bowl! David thought that sounded great!
I just find his stories fascinating... I hope you enjoyed that one.
Love to all - Brianna
